The demo I always love for a while, then it gets boring. Then i love it, then it gets boring again.

But with me buying some new ram (system will be 2000mhz Athlon, geforce 6600, and 1.5 gig of ram) Im thinking about buying BF2. Recommendations? Is the full version better than the demo?

If you enjoy a good hard time with EA, but sans the reacharound, then yeah, go for it.

It gets boring precisely because your stats aren't being tracked. When they ARE being tracked, it is FAR more rewarding. Working towards specific medals, ribbons, and badges makes the game more rewarding. Playing to win the map by capturing enemy CPs and by supporting the assault of your teammates is rewarding. Leading a good squad who actually knows what they are doing and that works together is rewarding.

If the full retail version will actually function for you, I would reccomend it. When the game works, I have a blast with it. Being able to earn another star or badge really does help motivate you and absorb you in the game.

Besides, you can post your stats and brag:

The full version is better than the demo when it comes to gameplay.

Lots of people (including myself) have had no end of technical problems in making the game work, so you will be taking that risk.

When the game actually works, I have a lot of fun with it.
