So he owns the house? Or are you subleasing from him? If he owns it, he should have a tax bill, insurance bill, etc. Not sure what he would have if he is leasing it, and then subleasing it to you.

Clearly, he isn't living there and we even have it agreed that he can't even enter the property unless we are home (bc I don't want him scoping out my safe and where guns are hidden throughout the house. He may have borrowed money/refinanced and listed a rental as a primary residence to get a better rate. 
The frozen bank account thing is worrisome. FWIW I had Iranian neighbors growing up, they GTFO when the Revolution happened, nice hardworking folks. |
