This may be a stupid question, but is there a reliable manufacturer that makes an 18.5" barrel for the Browning A5?

Probably easier to buy a non vent rib barrel(Japanese not Belgian) and cut it. Anyone who cuts a Belgian barrel needs to have their ass removed.

They may be available, but I've never seen a barrel for the A5 that wasn't Browning made.

Best bet is to find a Japanese barrel and cut it down.

Or have someone do it for you, a friend had a place do a vent rib barrel and they made it look factory and also had them add a new front bead.
I want to say it was Rose action sports,

I am almost certain that there were, at least at one time, aftermarket A5 barrels made. Hastings as I recall. Finding one may be difficult. The usual auction places would be a start for either them or original Browning barrels.

Yeah, it's a 60s Belgian.  No way I'm chopping it, but I've got a lust.
