I've seen photos of people shooting rifles with ear muffs (ear protection, not the winter thing). I have tried every way possible and the earmuff always hits the rifle stock. What am I doing wrong?

It may be a difference in the way you hold the rifle, I've been shooting rifles for years wearing muffs and never had a problem.

they get in my way too. I usually have to wear just the ear plugs (I like doubling up when possible). I'd like to find some low profile electronic muffs... suggestions?

Don't know. I've never had a problem.

I use muffs for Handguns, and earplugs for rifles.

I can't stand ear muffs. They irritate my skin.
