This guy said he and his friends used to shoot Pheasant with a single shot .22 back in his day.
and nobody needs a semi shotgutgun in the field.

I suspect several million pheasants have gone to the wheat field in the sky at the hands of 10 year old boys that killed them with a .22 rifle when the hungry birds came into the yard looking for a happy meal.

That's why you keep the rifle next to the back door.  Loaded.

They exist in vast quantities. I had a single shot Winchester .22 when I was a kid.

lou is an idiot, I saw that as well, not matter what larry craig said, lou would not admit that semi auto shotguns are legit sporting guns

Well these grouse weren't taken with a .22 single shot but they were taken with a .223 semi auto.  On the fly no less.  It can be done.  :)

My friend popped a pheasent in flight with a .22LR. One of the damnedest shots I've ever seen, he made a few other just-cant-believe-it shots as well. But I certainly wouldnt call it the norm.

My neighbor used to hunt Pheasant with a .22/.410 over/under.
He gave the bird a sporting chance with the .22, if he missed then he used the .410.

He never came back with an empty Pheasant basket and his dog was always tired.

Semi auto rifles are even recognised here as a legit sporting gun...if you have some disability which requires you to use one for trap...

A guy I know from another board regularly takes pheasants with a Marlin 39A.

Wife of CNN Host Gets Airport Gun Charge
Wife of CNN 'Moneyline' Host Lou Dobbs Arrested at Airport After Gun Allegedly Found in Handbag

The Associated Press

NEWARK, N.J. Jan. 23, 2003 —

The wife of CNN "Moneyline" host Lou Dobbs was arrested Wednesday at an airport security checkpoint after a loaded gun was allegedly found in her handbag.

Debi Dobbs, 49, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and released on her own recognizance after the incident at Newark Liberty International Airport, authorities said.

She did not tell officers why she had the gun, said Allen Morrison, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport.

Dobbs, whose husband hosts the nightly CNN business show "Moneyline," lives in Sussex and was at the airport to board a flight to Florida, authorities said.

CNN spokeswoman Christa Robinson said Lou Dobbs was not with his wife at the airport. She said the anchor was vacationing with his family and was not available for comment.
