Story I hear that most of these guys are from CA. Where in the hell do they get their guns. We all know its difficult to get guns in CA [rolleyes] Here's a story on the event.

The only people who have trouble getting guns are those who try to stay legal. These gangs could give a rats ass about gun or any other laws.If we allow our gun rights to be taken we will be ruled by these same gangs and be placed at thier mercy.

Looks from the story like the only victims were bikers that were in the fight (don't know that for sure). At least they didn't just start hosing the whole place down like gangstas from the `hood.

Damn I was just down the street at the Flamingo eating a nice greasy breakfast. On the way outta town at about 3 a.m. there was a LOT of cops coming into town, lights on. At least the Mrs. and I made it out before "they shut the town down." What's up with that anyway? Keeping people from leaving when there is no probable cause that *those people* committed the crime. Anyway, I am not going back. I have CCW in AZ but not in NV. It's not the "bikers" I am worried about, it's the "too many cops with too little to do."

Acouple of friends and I were going to head up there this weekend, but too many things to do. I'm kinda glad we didn't make it. The shooting may be over, but the police are going to crack down on everything, no doubt.

... A bunch of us would have been fucked in this deal if we were there. Yes, I've done the Laughlin run a few times and yes I carried concealed in the casinos. Well, if I were there this year and had my leather jacket and chaps on I would have been on that floor with EVERYONE else too. Eventually they would have found my P14-45 and I'd still be in Henderson County jail. ... Bikers = Goodness ... 1%'ers = Trouble

Gang feud between the rival Hells Angels and the Mongols, an old story in So. Cal. Apparently, a retaliatory strike for an earlier murder of a H.A. on the highway in the desert. What California gun laws have to do with this I don't know. Everybody knows criminals can get guns, just look at what happened in gun-controlled Germany last week. Besides, the Hells Angels have lots of guns, ask the ATF, H.A. is always trafficing in machine guns and shit. Did anyone see the N.D. by a police officer while he was handling a suspect? It was on a news clip and the round appeared to hit the floor scaring the crap out of the biker dude. Stupid gun handling, finger inside the trigger guard while controlling subject.

Hmmm...I think it's more like: Gentleman motorcycle enthusiasts = no problem Bikers = trouble

Been to Laughlin many times over the years, nice town. In the summer you can rent jet skis and zip up and down the Colorado.

Or, biker wannabes get a dose of biker reality! So, you wanna party, bro?
Link Posted: 4/27/2002 10:47:08 PM EDT
It's NV and there's plenty of open space. Those two gangs should have just settled it out in the desert somewhere and dug plenty of holes.

With all of the Harley riders around now, I am sure that there were plenty of doctors and lawyers in the group. True "bikers" are the manority in that crowd.

... for our benefit please post your definition of a "True" biker. I say fuck that notion. Way back in 1976 I graduated from high school and immediately left AZ for Maine with two friends on "bikes". I've ridden every dirt bike from Glamis, CA to the Cinders, AZ on "bikes". Hard tailed it from here to Sturgis, SD on "bikes", rode a Honda 100 (3) all around fields and orchards years before I could legally drive a truck on the highway. ... I ask you, just WTF is a "biker" in your world?

I think what he means are the guys who got a wild hair up their butt to be a badass "BIKER", got the brand new Harley, got the brand new leathers, Harley shirt, Harley hat, etc. It's all about looks, not riding! BTW I ride a ZX6R myself.

I have been riding motorcycles since I was 14 years old. I graduated from high school in the 60's. Been riding Harleys loooong before it was "cool" I have friends from long ago who are 1%. RUBS are NOT bikers. Motorcycle enthusiasts are NOT bikers. I never got into the club (or gang if you prefer) scene myself. But I partied with many who were (are) into it. REAL BIKERS are some of the most patriotic, open minded, free thinking people that I know. I have been to many rallys over the years. Left to their own devices bikers will pretty much police themselves. Do not be too quick to judge the whole because of the actions of a few. edited because I'm pissed

I just hope that Sonny Barger was not involved or hurt. Well I don’t what a real biker is in his world but in my world it is someone who is a real man and does not take crap from any one. And most of all what makes a real Biker a Biker is that the Biker, Rides to Live and Lives to Ride. He is not just a fair weather, part time, when I can get away from the office, Rider. He does not ride so everyone who sees him thinks he is a real man, he rides because he is a real man. When I started riding, if you rode a bike you were looked down on, and people treated you like garbage but did not dare say anything to your face in fear that you would hurt them. And if you rode a Harley then you were the lowest of the low and pure scum and were feared. Now even though there are a lot more people riding, most of them are not Real Bikers. They are Lawyers and Stockbrokers and other people who have high paying jobs and who want to feel like a real man once in a while at least so they buy a big bike, and dress up like they think real bikers do, and then on an occasional nice weekend they take their bike out for a short ride maybe to the local hangout just so they will be seen. You will never see this type of bike rider go for a ride in less then perfect weather or go for a long ride they are simply local riders. You can tell the real biker just by the way they are dressed, the imitation biker will be wearing perfect clothes all nice and clean and new looking in fact maybe even brand new. New leather chaps or pants, new leather vest, new shirt, new boots, everything new or new looking. Their boot will not have any scuff marks from the shifter or any other marks. These riders are in fact fakes only a poor imitation of the real thing. The real biker will look like he has lived on his bike, his boot will be scuffed up and if you look at his hands there may be calluses on his palms from gripping the throttle and controlling his machine. And there is one thing that makes a person a real Biker and that is the way he feels about his bike, because unlike the fake biker, the lawyer who only rides to feel like a man and whose bike is just another expensive possession, the True Biker loves his bike and it is the most important thing in his life and without it he would not be complete since his bike is a part of him. I know this since I am a biker and I rode with a club, and have met Sonny Barger and I can tell anyone who cares that he is a real man, and a American and I wish that there were more men just like him.

OK Sniper, I'll bite. I get the impression your favorite movies are Easy Rider, The Wild One, and Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. I am a lawyer, I ride a freakin' Honda, and Harley snobs are full of it. I put 6,000 miles on my bike last year riding in CA, NV, AZ, NM, CO and UT. My leathers have gen-u-ine bug guts on them. I will confess though that riding in crappy weather doesn't thrill me, and I like riding better than I like wrenching or cleaning. My bike is important to me like my AR is important to me. I don't live for the damn thing but I enjoy it very much. That said, I have never had a problem with "real bikers," H.A. or not. Even though I have ridden Japanese stuff all my adult life, which is the last 25 years. You treat them with respect, they treat you with respect. Although I am hearing different about the Mongols. I can't say I am too thrilled about the H.A.'s participation in the meth trade though. And when they are dumb enough to get into a big pissing contest in front of a bunch of casino security cameras, kill each other and screw up a big event for everyone else (even the yuppie scum lawyers and stockbrokers), I can't say that thrills me too much either. Even if the participants are "real men" with calloused hands and tattered leathers. They can't do too much riding six feet under or in prison.

One of the guys at work was staying at that hotel/casino. He had some problems with the Mongols the night before. It seems they were causing a lot of the people grief. He painted the picture that the Mongols are really mostly SoCal bangers that the "real" Mongols use as hired help. I'm just glad he wasn't hurt.

Hilariously, on Yahoo I saw a picture of that German school, with someone inside taping the word "Hilfe" (help!) on a window. And on the nightly news, they had a shot of one of the guests at the casino/hotel taping the word "HELP!" to her window! Hey, maybe we should write all the newspapers and tell people to carry masking tape with them for their own safety -- they can tape "help!" on windows if they're trapped!
