After receiving payment for the barrel, I took it to the local Office Depot to make sure I got the right size shipping tube. Took the tube, barrel and bubble wrap to the UPS counter and got it all packed and ready to go while the girl behind the counter watched.

As the shipping label was being printed and shipping and insurance calculated, I saw the notice sign on the counter listing things they would not ship. One of those was guns, or gun parts ooops.

Girl said nothing about it, maybe she didn't know what it was or didn't care. When did this start?

And don't collect insurance if lost or stolen.

That tube and barrel looked like an old electric typewriter roll to her.

Just about every gun part I have ever ordered came UPS. Is this a UPS thing or an Office Depot thing?

Girl behind the counter watches as I wrapped the barrel in bubble wrap and shoved it into the tube. Guess she didn't know what it was or they don't pay her enough to care. I listed the contents only as parts.

I had to ship a CAR-15 back to Bushmaster once. Walked into the Mailboxes Etc. Told them what I had and wanted to do. They said 'Sure'. Went back out to the car and got the rifle. They packed it and shipped it through UPS. So, my guess is it's a Office Depot rule.

I shipped a barreled receiver to a FFL, and used a UPS store to do so. When gal behind the counter asked what it was, I said "It's a barreled receiver". After I spelled it out for her, she shipped it no problem. Fed Ex/Kinko's doesn't even ask, and they have no place on the ground form to fill out what the contents are.

So. I should be covered. I did not lie, I simply put "parts", I omitted what kind of parts though.
