Therefore it was heartbreaking
to her mother that she would
enter into marriage with
William Munny, a known thief
and murderer, a man of
notoriously vicious and
intemperate disposition.

Just finished watching the DVD. Best movie ever.

Weird, I do not remmber that song from "Tombstone".

He should have armed himself if he was going to decorate his bar with my friend.

Unforgiven.

It was a good movie, I do not think it is the best ever, or even the best Western ever. Tombstone gets another vote from me on that category.

All right, gentlemen. He's got one barrel left. When he fires that, take out your pistols, and shoot him down like the mangy scoundrel he is!
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 11:50:33 AM EST
Tombstone was fun. But no back story. No view of a man struggling to obtain, then retain, his humanity. No monologue about killing every man, woman and child if they shoot him when he comes out of the bar.

"All right, I'm coming out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down! "

Fatty Rossiter: It was already loaded. Jesus, Clyde, you have three pistols and you only have one arm for Christ's sake.
Clyde: Well I just don't want to be killed for lack of shootin' back.

When friends ask me why I CCW - I give them this.

Honestly?

Didn't enjoy it nearly as much as "The Outlaw Josey Wales".

Great movie, tons of great lines.

"Deserves got nothin' to do with it."
Link Posted: 11/3/2009 11:55:17 AM EST
Best scene in that movie is when the cut-up whore rides out to meet him and the kid and tells them about how Little Bill beat Ned to death.

As she is recounting some of Will's past deeds, the kid just looks at him like WTF. Picking the bottle back up after 10 years was the finishing touch on the scene.

Eastwood did a damn good job transitioning into a scary motherfucker for the ending.

Pale Rider
Rio Bravo
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

All better than either Tombstone or Unforgiven.

Sends chills down my spine every time I watch it still.

The script for Tombstone is a work of art. Unforgiven is gold left to right and top to bottom. Both great flicks.

A very good movie.

I liked it because Eastwood didn't ride completely victoriously into the sunset with the rescued damsel.

He was a real guy with real troubles. He wasn't any better than the average guy watching the movie.

That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another.

"You boys better clear out there if you don't want to get shot. "

"Misfire"

"They been takin free ones."

Lots of good ones in that movie.

They cut out the part where Josey says to 10 Bears, "I can kill you, him him and him, maybe him him and him." Have'nt seen that part in a long time, anyone else notice that? Even in 'uncut' presentations.

"Some years later, Mrs. Ansonia Feathers made the arduous journey to Hodgeman County to visit the last resting place of her only daughter. William Munny had long since disappeared with the children... some said to San Francisco where it was rumored he prospered in dry goods. And there was nothing on the marker to explain to Mrs. Feathers why her only daughter had married a known thief and murderer, a man of notoriously vicious and intemperate disposition."

Excellent movie.
