Something that seems to be very common in these types of cases is the ATF will ask the first person they arrest for names of other people associated with the criminal activity. It always seems to be in exchange for that type of information the prosector seems to be more willing to cooperate with them. The bottom line is the person initially busted is usually very eager to name someone or anyone just so they appear to be cooperating. So as shotar said if you had any type of personal contact either direct or indirect with Shoot-N-Scoot you at least need find a lawyer and have the phone number on hand. Also take a look at what was seized from his place and how it was played up in the reports. If you have similar items or drawings you should start coming up with reasons and explainations as to why you have them.

One of the felonies he was convicted of in 1997 was aggravated assault on a police officer according to the newspaper accounts of these events.

Ah ok. I stopped following the story after the initial thread was locked

With no serial numbers, it' sgoing to be tough to prove he sold any weapons to a third party. It's not likely others would come forward to volunteer that they bought guns with no serial numbers from him.

Perhaps not, but that does not mean he didn't keep correspondence with them on his computer?

If he was stupid enough to post pictures bragging about his accomplishments, he most likely kept records of any sales he may have committed.

Certainly they wouldn't need to come forward on their own to be discovered. If ever there was a check (personal, cashier, or money order) exchanged, they will be traced to the issuer. We don't even need to discuss internet transactions or even paypal, all of which are very likely to be thoroughly searched to determine if he in fact was doing business and with whom. Really, his only best bet would be if he had sold his items for cash at a gun show with no paper trail or something like that, but I doubt anything like that would have ocurred.

Incidentally, can anyone actually link any threads where he says anything that is clearly incriminating himself of illegal activities?

If someone had bought a reciever from him what would be illegal about buying it. Shoot N Scoots possession would be illegal but the transaction shouldnt be, provided it was legal for the recipient to own the weapons. There is nothing illegal about having blueprints for ar 15's or ak's. Neither is it illegal to manufacture them for personal use. If you get a call from the ATF answer their questions, as long as you arent breaking the law their should be no problems.

That would be 1997.

I re-read the article. Thanks for the correction.

Anyone who is remotely happy about this can go fuck themselves. You don't belong talking about freedom.

Convicted felon - aggravated assault on a police officer. Unlawfully manufacturing firearms. Arrested by ATF.

I'm happy, and Mr. "Superpatriot," you can kiss my ass.

+1! Although he is guilty of unlawful laws he still baited himself for the hounds.

I think once he'd served his time he should be able to have weapons again. I am not happy about this. I also realize he was a dumb ass for documenting it online.

You dont need to remind us that you fully support gun control. This is common knowledge on the forums.

Making it against the law for a violent felon to own a firearm = unlawful law.

I am laughing too.

Keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals.... that's such a terrible thing

Yep, give all violent felons the right to own a firearms. All the rapists, child molesters and gang bangers. We might as well let them vote too because once they served their time they obviously know how to function in society.

I dont know, he payed his dues to society, and he hasnt commited any crimes with the firearms that he manufactured.

If he committed a crime with one of them then I agree he should go to jail for a LONG LONG time. But I dont think he posed an increased danger just from possesion, he could have easily used another means to commit crimes, or simply bought guns through the black market.

SoCalJBT-the name fits, that sort of attitude is what gives Law Enforcement officers a bad name around here.

Yup, I fully support keeping guns out of the hands of violent felons.

I've cut quite a few good folks slack when we caught them with concealed guns. If they weren't crooks, they went home. Yeah, I'm a real anti-gun hardass.
