Just took the test last week, 2 positions open and 10 of us tested. Anyone got some tips on dealing with an interview for a supervisory position? Types of questions to expect, etc? Interviews are planned for the end of the month.

Thanks,
VJ

Know your general orders inside and out. You will likely get scenario based questions about personnel management (officer x calls in sick, it's the 3rd time in a month......blah, blah). They might hit you with questions that require a step by step answer, to see if you retained info from your studies.
Best of luck!

Good luck. Expect multiple questions about the difference in attitude required of a supervisor v. street level, as r-c stated.

Some might say its gonna be management v. union but that might be an opinionated point of view

Answer every question as if you already had the job. NOT If I were Sergeant I'd. . .BUT I would do . . .

Relax, Breathe.

Have an Opening and Closing statement. In your closing say "I'm the best canidate. . ."

Good Luck. I've been a sergeant for 3 1/2 years. It is tough telling your friends what to do, but you get over that soon enough. Stay calm and focussed during the interview. I had a little help with the questions, A captain on the board coached me before the interview.

Good Luck, And remember: No early hats for the boss.

I have seen this statement posted on ARFCOM before, so I am just repeating it.
