Unfortunately the guy doesn't give a lot of information in the story, like how much it hurt, how he got medical attention, blood loss, recovery time, etc. He really could have filled out the story more.

Sucks to be him. Not too hard to unload a firearm before handling it. All firearms are always loaded.

And who the hell posts something like that in .pdf format.

The Sigma and Glocks must be very similar in design.

I heard a California state Senator is going to try to ban Glocks next legislative session because of the "safety features" aspect of their handgun control law.   They're going to add to the requirement that all California guns contain a "magazine" safety and "loaded chamber indicator" an additional requirement that pulling the trigger shall not be required to strip or disassemble the gun.

The nanny state takes advantage of incidents such as these, you see.

Considering the number of people injured from other common household items,
I think these Senators should be reminded of what the real threats are.

Does anyone have a current list of statistics regarding injury/death from
rifles, handguns, lawn mowers, chainsaws, toasters, ball point pens, etc?

Lets see them put a "loaded slot indicator" on a 4-slot toaster.

I got one better. I have a .40 S&W Hydra Shok bullet that went through my left leg. I was shot by a friend who was fucking around with a Glock, in the back seat of my car.  It went in and went out, and lodged itself into the drivers door.  I was able to drive 15 miles and walk unassisted 50 yards to the ER, by myself. For all this trouble I got pain killers, two bandaids, crutches, a new Glock 22, an overnight stay, and two Band Aids. I will post pics of the bullet as soon as I can find it.
