I would like to install a second HD and "ghost" the original. Then change the jumpers and make the second the primary HD. How hard will it be? The second HD has WinXP loaded and will that be a problem?

if you copy your original hd to the second drive you WILL Destroy all the data on that 2nd drive. but you will have the same data on both drives

i do this everyday

Are you talking about a RAID 1 configuration?

No, he is talking about duplicating.

I'm sure that on the drive that windows loads from, there are file it locks for the duration that it is running. (such as the files where the registry data and security database is) you might not be able to copy those.

If you use a program like norton ghost to copy the first drive to the second you can do exactly that. Then set the new drive to the primary and you're all set.
