Home Depot wants to sell a product exclusive to The Home Depot.
They ask the manufacturer to make a product that only The Home Depot will sell.
Part of the deal is that The Home Depot will invest money (in the form of a stock buy or a stock trade)in the company or an outright purchase of the company.
Have you ever looked at some of The Home Depot only products and see that they come from or have a contact address listed as Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA.
That's The Home Depots corporate headquarters.
In the case of Techtronic The Home Depot leveraged both Ryobi and Ridgid to sell part of their companies to Techtronic. Ridgid still makes plumbing tools in America, but not any of the home consumer woodworking or power tools. Same goes for Ryobi.
You can almost bet that within a year Milwaukee will be offering exclusive tools for The Home Depot.
Milwaukee power tools being made in Mehico and China is just plain wrong.
