There's a lot of Republicans in upstate NY. In my county (Onondaga, where Syracuse is), the vast majority of elected officials are Republicans with the exception of city officials like mayor, city court judges, etc. Of the 15 or so county wide elected judge positions, 3 are Democrats, and one of them was cross endorsed by the Conservative party. Our county executive is a Republican. Republicans dominate all the suburban municipalities. Our 20+ year congressman who retired last year was an NRA "A" rated Republican. |
