Many of you can’t talk about this topic without being accused of sexism, losing your jobs, and being cast out of your social groups. But I can talk about it because I endorse Hillary Clinton for president. I did that for my personal safety, because I live in California, but still, I’m on the progressive side now. That gives me some extra freedom of speech. God. Damn. That is fucking brilliant. |

I believe the term is ah "Based Scott Adams" that's what the youngins on the internet have been saying.
ETA: I agree with him most of the time, except for his views on V-neck shirts. V-neck shirts are incredibly comfortable. |

His cartoons have been widely liked because at the root of the cartoon is some keen insight into social dynamics that plague us. I can't read Dilbert cartoons because I've fucking lived them. He's financially secure and has nothing to lose by ignoring The Narrative and calling it as he sees it. I think he sees it in a fucked up way on some things, but overall he sees things with more clarity than most...which is why his cartoons have done so well. Have no illusions...he's not a conservative or libertarian. I don't think he has the courage to follow his insights to their logical conclusion. I could be wrong and he could be a libertarian in disguise so as to get inside the gates. But I doubt it. Still, he's a smart dude with useful insight into human behavior who figured out he could make money by putting those insights into speech bubbles in a comic strip. |

Yet again, he's getting it right.
Sadly, feminism has gone from a desire to become equal to a desire to get even. Get even for past and wrongs, whether actual or simply perceived. There's a time and a place for getting even, but that's on an individual level with someone who has actually done something wrong to you, not when you're trying to enact positive societal change. And I think that's a concept that is largely lost in today's society of perpetually juvenile thought processes. |
