I went to the recruiter today. If Labor day wasnt coming up I'd be taking the ASVAB at Ft. Lee tomorrow, but have to wait till tuesday. I never graduated HS or got a GED.
I decided to see what I could do with my 900 class hours from the vocational school I went to.
The recruiter told me all I needed was 657 Hrs, to not need a GED.

So, what will that get me? I know it'll be higher then E-1.

It'll be nice to complete basic and AIT and not be "Private Spunk"

TIA

ETA: Army, Most likley will chose 11B regardless of what MOS's are available.
I want to go to Ft. Benning and run the Darby Queen.

Depends on what you went for and how much your recruiter will screw you over. Get the facts straight before expecting rank. I think you should at least get a bump to E-3 depending on what you're doing. I started as an E-nothing . . . but it's not so bad. Good luck!

Get used to being a private, Spunk, you're gonna be there for at least 6 months. You're going to need at least 30 college credits for E-2 and I don't think those extra tech school hours are going to cut it. Even starting out as an E-1 you will be an E-3 in 12 months.

I have a HS diploma and 110 credit hours from a four-year liberal arts college. All of it earned me a rank of E-3. My recruiter tried to get me in as an E-4 considering the amount of college I had, however it did not help, they said one had to have a BA or BS to enlist as a specialist(E-4). Considering I have the credits needed for OCS, I really did'nt care my initial enlisted pay grade.

Your vocational credits may help you get in, however I doubt that any additional rank will be given since you have neither a HS or GED. The Army recruiter I talked to today said with a GED you need a minimum of 15 credit hours from an accredited school to be eligible to enlist. YMMV

Sweet.
Now I just have to take the ASVAB and got to MEPS.
Hopefully I'll be getting some ACU's soon.
Thanks guys!

I think the AF has started not accepting people that don't have a HS diploma. When I joined a GED was a big iffy issue for some of the other recruits the recruiter was baiting.
