Any teacher or administrator who feels that any kind of sexual relationship with a student is justified, ought to be drawn and quartered. That sort of relationship is simply taking advantage of a younger, more naive person, who is subject to the teacher's approval for grades, etc. What an idiot- or worse.
In my years of teaching, the only time I ever saw any of this happening was when I taught for a year at a posh boarding school here in MA. Lots of ex-hippies (read: trust fund babies) are now in charge of an outwardly WASPy, formerly arch-conservative, now arch-PC "independent school". A very liberal school, where, uh....everything went. Drugs, sex, etc., all on campus, in the dorms, and the faculty and administration just turned a blind eye to it, since the kids there were the sons and daughters of VIPs in business and politics from everywhere. (Yes- quite a few kids of UN diplomats, too, folks....) I saw one young male teacher who would touch a female student rather inappropriately in public. It looked obvious to me, and others that I spoke with about it, that their relationship was mutual, despite their age difference and positions in campus society. I complained to his dept. head, but never heard another word about it. The wall had come down on that topic. Other teachers I mentioned it just pretty much rolled their eyes and said, "move on- nothing to see here...not your problem." The guy was still there, last I heard. Me- I left after one year- all that relativism and hypocrisy had helped start turning me away from being a liberal....."If it feels good, do it...NOT." |

One of the shop teachers at my high school married one of his students weeks after she graduated. This was about 87 or 88, my Dad knew the guy, he was a customer, they had been seeing each other since she was a sophmore. Her parents knew all about it and gave her their permission.

Look, yes, the teacher definitely abused his position of power as an educator and should be punished. I mean, you cant just go around and solicit blowjobs from underage girls.
