Ok, here's the deal.  This girl I went on a date with, she's telling me that she likes to watch scary movies, but they really don't do too much for her.  I told her I was going to find a movie that scared her...  I'm kinda wondering if I'll be able to.

So far, I know that she didn't think The Ring or The Shining were scary.

Any ideas?

I thought Signs was scary in a non-traditional way.  Sometimes they are better when it's not in your face.

Or maybe she can't suspend reality enough to get into a movie and actually be scared.

"Play Misty for Me". Babe with a big knife keeps jumping out of the dark trying to carve Clint up. But it might backfire. I double dated with a guy once and we spent the movie cringing behind the next row seats while our dates snickered. I hate big knives. Especially when nutcakes have them.

As far as new movies I thought House on Haunted Hill was freaky.

I dunno, man.

I've gone to the theaters expeting to have filled shorts many times and left with tighty whitey's cleaner then when I entered the theater.

Saw
SawII
House of 1000 corpses.
Ring
RingII
Dawn of the Dead
Land of the Dead

The list goes on. I haven't felt a thrill at the theater in a long time.

Maybe I'm a tough critique. It's just that nothing scares me anyore.

Perhaps I am truely a zombie killing machine?

My Brother in-laws wife swore up and down that she's not afraid of anything while we were watching "Halloween" a couple years ago. About 10 minutes before the movie was over, they got ready to leave. I snuck out the front door and hid underneath his Ranger. I heard them coming up the driveway, I heard the passenger side door open, and then I reached out and grabbed her chubby little ankle. She jumped about 5 feet in the air, squealing like a gut-shot doe. As soon as she hits the ground, she starts running towards the house screaming about "something under the truck".
It wouldnt have been so funny, but my BIL has no taste in women. I like a little meat on the bones, but this girl is about 5 feet tall, and about four and a half feet wide. Always running her mouth, either bitchin' about something or talking shit.
Good Times.

My point is, many girls say that kind of stuff to look tough. Give 'em one good scare, and they shit their pants.

ETA- Dawn of the Dead scared the shit out of my wife. And she likes zombie flicks.

The original Alien movie was scary - a lot of the newer stuff seems high on gore and schock, but not really that "scary" per se.

High Tension was pretty gory and had a few jumpy spots. I have over 250 horror films alone on dvd.

Session 9

"Plot Outline: Tensions rise within an asbestos cleaning crew as they work in an abandoned mental hospital with a horrific past that seems to be coming back."

Not you normal Horror/slasher movie.  Great acting... not like 'Saw II' that I watched last night ... ack ...

I thought I was the only person who's watched Session 9.  Weird, but not bad.

If you like reading sub-titles, the original Japanese version of Dark Water was freaky.

Wait Until Dark.

Two innocent people get sucked into a smuggling operation. Near the end is a scene I have never seen fail to cause a viewer to jump. And, the story really could happen, to anyone.

Yeah, Rob is one sick bastard.  Very few movies have made me want to go out and pray afterwards, and Houes of a 1000 Corpses is one of them.

Take her to see "Hills have eyes" I was disturbed to say to least when I got done watching that movie. It was not that scary, it just disturbed the hell out of me. That will be a good way to see how strong her stomach is.
