The FBI probe into the sex scandal that led to the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced early Tuesday.

According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of “potentially inappropriate” e-mails between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close friendship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall. Allen, a Marine, succeeded Petraeus as the top allied commander in Afghanistan in July 2011.

The plot thickens.

This Kelly gal is playing out to be quite the little whore, and Obongos "Purge" appears to be directed more and more at the top brass overall.

Frankly, I'm smelling some third world shit getting played out here, and similar to the shit despots play when they are in fear of a Military coup.

I am having a hard time wrapping my brain around this. First of all, do editors even exist anymore? Was it phone calls or emails. Broadwell was harassing Kelley regarding her relationship... from Broadwell who was having a relationship with Patraeus?

Broadwell is a married academy grad and an LTC in the reserves...who thought Kelley was having an affair with GEN P when, if the story plays out, she was having an affair with GEN Allen.

If all this high school nonsense is true, it will be detrimental to "good order and discipline" among our troops. Somehow, I doubt a General will be punished as severely as a lower ranked officer might.

You are supposed to set the example, set the tone. They are subject to the UCMJ, not sure what articles if any they violated. Not good, trust me this will be ugly.

Mrs. Broadwell was a graduate of West Point, was an officer in the military, and worked with the FBI Joint task force on terrorism. All public knowledge.

Not the type of woman to fly off the handle without thinking of the consequences.

She met Petraeus in 2006, where he gave her his card, and that was it. Somehow, she wound up writing his biography, that was released in 2010. The co author, Vernn Loeb, is the same guy that penned the Jessica Lynch story, that later turned out to be false. Certainly a questionable character.

What I want to know, is when did this woman actually start on the book, and start spending time with the General? According to the info we have right now, she didn't start interviewing him for the book until 2008, and didn't start the affair until 2011, well after the Obama administration took office, and we know that Obama and Patraeus were opposed to each other, especially since they butted heads over the surge, which Obama took credit for. That makes me ask the question, who started the affair? So far the info seems to say that it was her. I also believe with her previous military and FBI connections, that the relationship could have easily been set up by the administration to create point of leverage over the General if Obama needed it, in case he got out of line. When Patraeus did get out of line on Benghazi, it was used against him. There are just too many easy rookie mistakes there. There is no way that a former military officer, that worked with the FBI Joint Task Force on Terrorism is going to openly threaten some other woman over her perceived territory. Women like that handle things differently. Guys, this has been done before. Women have been used for this sort of thing forever and a day.

We are seeing a purge in a way that that is semi acceptable to the public. Our leaders can't outright kill military officers that aren't loyal, but they can damn sure taint their image and force them to step down over scandals if those scandals are made public.

Generals are powerful men, with powerful drives, and all throughout history, including our own, they have had mistresses. Having a mistress does not result in a General losing power, unless someone in power above him decides that he needs to go. It's political.

Pannetta stepped down lately as well, and I have to wonder what story they were holding over his head that forced him out.

As I said, we are witnessing a purge, the western way. There are too many connections with the players, and too many connections with ongoing events that are damaging to the white house.
