I have the M11 (SIG P228) and it's the best CCW 9mm handgun out there in my biased opinion. You pull the trigger and it goes bang. No levers or buttons to press first. The optional "short" trigger makes that first DA shot very easy to control.
The guys who designed it, however, never considered anyone would need to clean it. Cleaning never crossed Swiss-German their minds, which is startling if you have or know anyone with a Swiss or German grandmother! Absolutely the hardest handgun to clean I've ever handled. There are nooks and crannies everywhere, and they all attract dirt and unburned powder like magnets. High pressure air is a required tool here. Much of this is due to the sheet metal construction of the slide.
My M9 (Beretta M92FS) on the other hand, can be cleaned in no more than a couple of minutes. If you gotta carry 9mm in an exposed holster this is a better choice if you expect to shoot and clean it under austere conditions.
