I have a Nikon Speedlight SB-24 that I used to use with an 8008 35mm body. Will this flash work with Nikon digital cameras?

If you look in your manual maybe you don't if you have not purchased a Nikon DLSR yet.  But under the optional flash units it lists the compatibility.  I used my google-foo and found that someone said it was possible to use it on a D40.   I also broke out my D300 manual and it says that you can use it in the following modes.

  • Non-TTL auto

  • Manual

  • Repeating Flash

  • REAR Rear-curtain sync

You should look into a SB-600 or up.  They are very nice.

I use an SB28 with a D40x.  The camera has to be set to M.  The flash I set to I.  It works OK.

It's a very good off-camera flash, too.
