I just bought 3 battle packs (300 rounds) for $32 each.  They are dated 89.  I also got 2 hirtenberger 308 battle packs (200 rounds) for $35 each.  It was at a gun show in Taylor, Michigan. A lady in another stall also had both for $5-7 dollars more. Good or bad deal? Should I buy more? Thanks guys.

Cut one of those sealed battle packs open and inspect the cartridges inside. I ended up with 12 of them that have some corrosion on the brass. The plastic is sealed, the cardboard boxes undammaged yet the brass is "rusting". The cartridges run alright though my FAL no problem it's just that they're not worth the effort to reload them now.

Paul, the rounds look ok.  They look a little tarnished but no corrosion to speak of.  The paper boxes are in perfect shape.  I guess shooting them at the range will tell.  Thanks!
