"SAS sniper Sgt Danny Nightingale has been sentenced to two years by a military court in Wiltshire for illegally having a pistol."

Who else would support an Immigrant Visa for this guy so that he and his family can move to Texas?
|
|
Terrible. I hope there is another public outcry and this decision gets reversed.
Politicians were out to lynch him after the court case failed, military brass helped and made sure he was convicted. |
|
Bet if it was a chav in council housing, they'd just have gotten an ASBO.
|
|
I thought our British friends told us he stole them from the military ?

This is a real shame. This man, apparently a professionally trained gun handler, is going to jail for doing the exact same thing that I am doing as I type this; possessing a handgun. Differences are I have no formal training, and I happen to be at work right now in the private sector.
Best wishes for him and his family while they are apart. |

The real moral of the story here is don't get dropped in the shit by a woman.
That's what happened |

It's fucking disgusting what his country is doing to him. And our country is starting to do it to us. Look at the story that Aimless posted about the arrests in NY for men possessing AR mags. Why are LEO allowed to carry anywhere while SOF are not, I served in CA and I'm more proficient with a pistol than the vast majority of police. Why can they carry off duty and I can not? This is a serious question, I always wondered. |

I went to the range yesterday and ran 400 rounds through 4 pistols; there were young people shooting, old people shooting, young kids on dates, and parents with their sons and daughters, and a young man in a wheelchair; all in all, a wholesome and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
It's never really about the guns; it's about exerting total control over the populace. |

Its still a sad state of affairs. |

God forbid that a sniper should have access to a pistol when he's not in a war zone.
It's not like jihadists are going to run him over and then cut his head off in the street or anything... |

I agree that the law against owning a handgun over there is f'in BS. However, if the law says you cannot possess a handgun and he chose to do so, then he knowingly broke the law. SAF or not does not mean he is above the law.

Stupid thing here in the Netherlands is that in my lifetime possession of weapons like machine guns and grenades went from a extremely small fine and a misdemeanor (think parking ticket) to now a felony that will land you in prison for about 3-9 months.
To be clear I believe posseson of the weopns uses by any public force like the police can not be crime. Felons to dangerous to posses arms shopuld not be on the street in the first place. |
