Police records show that investigators were aware that Greene was trying to sell the gun for several weeks before brokering the deal, but instead waited until the day after the controversial gun law took effect, April 16, to purchase the rifle and make the arrest. Greene said he tried to make the deal on April 14, a day before the sale would have become illegal, but police stalled. {This is where the /quote tag won't go} |

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to explain how this isn't entrapment.

Can anyone say "entrapment"?
Is this the law that everyone's talking about, that the police won't enforce? |

The cop (buyer) jerked him around and gave him a "down payment" then came back with the rest of the money a couple days later. View Quote Another fine example of "protect and serve". Thank you JBT for trying to manufacture a criminal. There is no excuse, but I can hardly wait for people to try to rationalize the behavior of the police. |

For those of us in the northeast, this isn't going to end well.

It sounds like all the elements of a contract had been concluded...and something of value had changed hands. Prancing fuckwad tyrant DA's tying to make a name for himself at the expense of reality. |

Watching an ad, and waiting until 1 day after the law takes effect to purchase it. I guess they wanted their first SAFE Act bust ASAP.

I have talked to the guy on several occasions, and have vetted him as good as I can. He seems to be a good guy, not perfect, but a decent guy who deserves our support.
Awaiting Striker to approve a fundraiser link for the guy's legal expenses. I know most of you are phenomenally wealthy, as am I , but this guy is looking at more than a few grand in legal expenses and this party is just getting started.

Do police in NY take an oath to the Constitution of the United States?

Hopefully this blows up in the face of the DA and cops that decided this was a good idea. May fuck be upon them, and this bullshit law.

he's going to walk..... sale started with the down payment.. View Quote Yeah he's gonna walk but not without paying out the ass in lawyer fees, court costs, time away from work. Not to mention the gun he tried to sell is gone probably won't get that back or the potential money from selling it to a legit buyer and the damage to his reputation. The damage is now done and it didn't even take a guilty verdict to get him there. |

The circle jerk must have been monumental after this heroic police action.

I can't believe how far rogue government will go to destroy people these days just to intimidate everyone else.
