I think all men, or at least all real men, are attracted to guns

I like this guy.

If we dropped the PC BS and offered something like this when I was a kid I'd be all over it.

I really can’t find anything to disagree with, at least on the surface.

Military instruction for young boys backed by a grounding in morality. This is something a lot of American children need.

Don't we have military acedemies for young boys?

Whether or not your boy scout experience was military type instruction depends entirely upon your troop leaders.

I was fortunate enough to have a few guys who were ex-mil and one former drill instructor as part of our group of Dad's that taught us a lot of shit.  We did a lot of camping, hiking, shooting, some light survival stuff.  It was fun.  I did eventually quit as the belly aching from a bunch of the other kids about "its cold, I'm tired, I'm hungry, I need to tape WWF" got to me and decided I can do this shit on my own without the drama.

While your reading this your enemy is training.

That video summed up everything that was fundementally wrong with our youth. As much as I dislike and distrust Russian I have to admit they are sharpening their youth the right way. I didnt see anything that I found morally questionable....except some trigger control.

We had a Syrian friend of the family when I was a kid.
I was involved with scouting at that age and he told me that he had been a Boy Scout back in Syria.
So I asked him if they went camping and did stuff like pinewood derby.
He said no, they drilled with rifles and jumped over burning tires and pretty much prepared to invade Israel.

Marine Military Academy Summer Camp

  • Marine Military Academy Summer Camp provides boys the opportunity
to be learn invaluable skills and challenges that will turn them from
boys to young men.  Throughout July, boys age 12-18 experience the
"Carpe Diem" philosophy of the camp as they experience an authentic look
at the traditions of the Marine Corps.  Every camper learns the
importance of the foundation of teamwork: trust and mutual respect.
These traits come into play during activities such as the mud course,
paintball competition, rifle range, boxing matches and the challenging
"Iron Man" activity which combines 8-10 courses together into one giant
challenge of strength, perseverance and determination. Retired marines
and qualified coaches train campers in companies of 60-75, which split
into platoons of 30-35 each led by a drill sergeant. At the end of the
month, each camper leaves with confidence in themselves as they've grown
as a team member and individual.

Unlike most of who posted "I wanted this" it's not for our children in my opinion.  I'm a BSA supporter and scoutmaster.  Scout's should be fun and educational.  Besides shooting and some survival lessons for these boys there is nothing educational for their development.  If you look at the Star, Life and Eagle requirements, it's all about education, service to your neighbors, community grounding in your duty to God and your fellow man.

The BSA is part of what makes this nation different and great.

In my opinion what we do with our children doesn't make them soft and spoiled.  It actually gives them an opportunity to be an individual, choose what they want to do in life and gives them an opportunity to learn to be a leader.  What you describe makes them open to be brainwashed, hate someone for what they are not who they are, and takes away their childhood.

Well, that's pretty much why his Christian family left Syria for France.
He came to the U.S. for college in the late 60's, got married and became a citizen.
And his comment was very much about the regime stoking nationalism and ethnic hatred.
