The Soviets received hundreds of thousands of them.

They were usually issued to 3rd tier forces due to the non-standard round.

The Russians received them with tanks, then boxed them up as they fired a non-standard round.

Every lend lease Sherman tank came with a Thompson in a turret rack apparently.

I read a memoir of a Soviet tank commander who stated most were just thrown out on the side of the road due to the PPSH being a much preferred weapon, never mind the lack of .45acp availability.
