Second day of vacation I was gaffing a Cobia and pop I knew what happened immediately, it didn't hurt that bad but i was real pissed off. My mind rushed ahead and i knew i would need surgery so I thought my vacation was screwed. Talked to orthopedic Surgeon and he said it could wait 12 days. Was only sore a day and then a little tinder but i was able to cast and fish and even throw my cast net.
Not looking forward to the next three months. |

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. My ortho doc says he's going to cut mine at the top of the humerus bone to relieve some of the constant pain I have from a wrecked left shoulder.

Don't put off getting that fixed... and follow your Orthopod's instructions.
If you wait too long, the muscle will permanently shorten, and cannot be re-lengthened. This will lead to a much more complicated repair than a simple tendon rupture. |

 tell me some recovery stories guys , please I'm 60 36 yo gym rat why wouldn't you do it again?
60% to 70% muscle strength in that arm lost if no surgery! I don't want that! It's my right arm, I will only be able to jack off left handed

can't help ya but to relay a story... had an old squad leader get his arm caught in a riser on a jump, which pulled his bicep muscle all the way up from his elbow into his shoulder like a wet towel.

Surgery. But let your surgeon know that you are accurate to 1000 yards off hand.
I bet he gets the picture. |
