if you've got a revolver that shoots non rimmed rounds meant for autos (.45, 9mm, 10mm), you need moon clips... otherwise you'll need to eject using a dowel.... it says so right there in the manual....

Smith & Wesson model 547 was a 9mm revolver that had a wire attachment on the cylinder so that Moon Clips were not needed
According to that Ruger Manual some early Ruger Models were produced that way also |
