My first response was: "Hey! The Canadians don't have an aircraft carrier!"
Followed by: "If the Canadians can afford a new aircraft carrier, why are we talking about transitioning to having a weaker and less capable military?" And now:

My edition of Jane's Fighting Ships has the Canadian carrier in it. It's interesting to see how many carriers were in commission outside of the USN back in the day (cruisers, too, and quite a few countries had only recently gotten rid of their battleships and battlecruisers, with Turkey and France still having them in reserve).
