Make sure that the Romainian AK is a SAR-1, and not a WSAR-10. The difference is the magwell. The reciever on WSAR-10's is designed to hold a 10 round, single stack mag. When they are imported, Century Drammel's out the reciever so that they can accecpt 30 round double stack mags. The workmanship is usually shotty at best, and the result is a magwell that you have a very difficult time putting a mag into.
SAR-1's on the other hand are Romainian AK's built to hold 30 round mags. They are rock solid, and for the money they are one of the best AK's you can get in my opinion.
ETA - I have never been one to pass on an SKS either! If the AK is a SAR and not a WSAR, then definately BUY BOTH!
