Amazon has a deal on the 37 pc. kit with this item.   Goldbox deal that came in an email.

$89.95

Anyone think this is a handy tool.?

I know blades etc are where they make the money.

I bought the Craftsman cordless version and it is a pretty neat tool.

That sounds like a decent price on one so I so FO!

Good little tool, but do not expect very accurate cuts due to the nature of the design.

The blades do not last long if you cut a lot of metal though.

The Sonicrafter has fast become my go-to tool for almost anything.  I remodeled a bathroom last year - I used the Sonicrafter more than any other tool in my arsenal: Removing old grout; cutting PVC pipe; removing integral door stop molding; plunge-cutting wainscotting for electrical boxes; removing old adhesive under the old marble threshold; etc., etc..

Much cheaper than Fein, but just as good, AFAIC. The blades are cheaper, too.

I'm going to buy the Harbor Freight version.  If I use it enough that it goes tits up I may then replace it with a name brand tool.  If I don't, then I'm only out $30 to have a tool in the shed for the occasional job.

I bought one a little while back.  Haven't used it too much yet, but what I have done with it worked great.  I'm glad I bought it.

I almost didn't buy it because I saw some reviews complaining of the attachments loosening during use, but I haven't had the slightest problem.  You never know when a bad review is due to user error, which is what I suspect here.

The HF version is amazingly well made for the money.

A lot of things there are.  If you spend enough time around tools and in the store, you can develop a pretty good "feel" for what is a good value and what is complete shit.  Their ratcheting box end wrenches for instance, are the best ones I've ever laid hands on, for a fraction of the price of GearWrench or Craftsman.

Looks fien to me as well.

But seriously...I have a Sonicrafter, it works like it's supposed to, but does get a little hot with prolonged use.

ETA: the plastic case that the blades and sandpaper came in sucks.
