Well, you scared me with the title.  I wondered why a creature like Robert Reich would support Cruz.  Got a bit panicked.

Nice ad.  It is a shame when someone who loves the USA, the Constitution, and Western Culture is considered dangerous.

Depends. If you don't love the USA as it is, think the Constituition is an impediment, and think western culture is guilty of crimes and should be punished then you'd rightly consider Cruz VERY dangerous. He's the antithesis of your ideology.

Interesting, most of those items outlined are why Cruz can't beat Hillary.  His push of religious and social issues will cause centrist voters who might vote Republican to vote for Hillary.  I've been saying this for 2 months in threads here where people were asking "Why doesn't Ted Cruz have more supporters".  Well he is offensive to everyone who doesn't think exactly like he does.  Yet some how the Cruz supporters think that even though he pushes away everyone who isn't like him and cause them to vote for the Democrat think that Cruz has a better chance of winning.  Cruz doesn't have a chance in the general election even if he got the nomination, will never be President.

Trump on the other hand doesn't offend those groups on a fundamental level the way Cruz does.  Trump has no huge moral, religious, or social issue platform issues blocking centrists from voting for him.  That means he appeals to more voters than Cruz ever could and that means Trump has a higher chance of winning.

Before the Cruzettes get their panties in bunch, I'm not saying Cruz's views aren't good views.  I'm saying the majority of the country doesn't care about them and won't vote for him because of them.

I would suggest that most people's concerns in this area would be addressed if you consider his views on the Constitution. If something is not in the purview of the federal government then his personal opinion is irrelevant. As far as government goes he's a Constitutionalist first.

Trump will be asked about these things in the general, or maybe before the primaries are over. He has already made the statement that he is a Christian, is proud to be a Christian, and will protect Christianity. If that is the case, he will have to square up his personal beliefs with these statements, or potentially experience some backlash at the polls.

Sadly, most of American, and especially "conservatives" want entertainment. The Constitution? LOL WTF is that, we are all getting a wall and universal healthcare. In tbier minds the Constitution is like talking like a fag and its shit is all retarded. I swear in my lifetime when a conservative hears the Constitution being mentioned they will be like "There you  go with that fag talk again, we got a wall, scro"

That is because Trump is all about Trump. He will tell you anything if he thinks it will benefit himself. Isn't that what people are sick of, politicians that only care about their own self interests? So, what is the difference? You are going to vote for him because you think he has a better chance of winning the general, ok, then what? What happens when President Trump makes deals with the Democrats just like the current Republicans?

Not sure if you all realize that Robert Reich is a leftist true believer. He made that video genuinely believing that he was saying bad things about Cruz.

Cruz is now using it to promote himself. Because why wouldn't you? Reich laid it all out there. All the good points that make folks like us like him even more.

Scary to think about who his real target audience was.

The Cruz campaign would do themselves a huge favor if they'd cut out the lying (Carson), photoshops (Rubio) and the phony quotes (Rubio).

Makes him look stupid IMO. He clearly has the best record to stand on so I really don't get why they keep resorting to this.

If he is a Constitutionalist then why does he uses religious groups to push his political points and campaign for him?  But he only the religions that benefit him, as he wants to ban a different religion from the country.  Sorry but to go to those extremes on the 1st Amendment disqualifies him from being a Constitutionalist.  He is only a Constitutionalist when it benefits his platform but treats it like toilet paper when it doesn't.  Making a law for or against a particular religion is expressly prohibited in the BOR.

Ted Cruz also said he supports the current gun background check system and wants to strengthen those checks.  He's not much a Constitutionalist if he doesn't respect "shall not be infringed".  That's the first two amendments where he only supports the parts that fit his agenda while ignoring the parts that don't.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Cruz on his Constitutional understanding as he has a better grasp of it than anyone else running.  I'm bashing him because he has that understand and chooses to ignore the parts that don't fit his agenda.

Trump doesn't have that understanding and Trump runs his mouth.  So when Trump calls for a religious test to ban Muslims from immigrating, well Trump is an idiot and doesn't know any better.  He and Cruz should have said something along the lines of "shut down immigration until new background check procedures can be put in place" and then add whatever extra scrutiny they want based on religion behind the scenes.  So on that issue if Trump is an idiot and didn't know any better, what is Cruz's excuse since he did know better?
