Press Release
The Rifle Print Company is introducing a unique new product line for gun enthusiasts. They are producing high quality photographic prints of many of the world’s most famous firearms. These fine art giclée prints are produced using archival materials that will last a lifetime. The level of photographic detail in these prints allows viewers to enjoy the intricacies of gun mechanics and clearly read stamping or other gun insignia. Additionally, each detail page is linked to Wikipedia to provide broader information about the guns being viewed.
The company is currently displaying 35 gun prints in its online gallery at
www.rifleprints.com. New Rifle Print Editions will be added to the collection on a regular basis. When visiting the site, viewers can use the zoom tool to see the incredible level of detail captured in these images. Each 34” x 17 3/4” print can be purchased as an unframed print, matted or unmated, or as a framed print matted and mounted behind conservation glass.
Publisher Ben Woodson and photographer Jim Wells formed the company to offer gun enthusiasts a way to display their favorite firearms as fine art prints. “I’ve always felt the simple form and function of many rifles represent a level of beauty that is art”, said Woodson. “I am excited to be able to offer these prints at this quality level. We’re using great quality rag paper stock and printing with pigmented inks to create long-lasting, beautiful prints.”
The photographic style for these Rifle Prints is unusual in the world of gun imagery. Photographer Jim Wells said, “A lot of gun photography employs special lighting effects like colored gels to create a high-tech look. We felt a simple approach with fairly dramatic lighting and a stark clean background created the best-looking art prints. Every photographic style has its place, but as wall art, our approach makes these prints look very three dimensional and sophisticated.”
The Rifle Print Company is currently researching new collections to photograph and print. They are encouraging gun owners and collectors to visit them at
www.rifleprints.com and browse through the current gallery, and to come back often to check on new editions. They always welcome feedback from visitors.
