Ok, i know (or think i remember) the sight doing something like this for a few guys a couple months ago.
Ibring this up because one of my buddies ( who also happens to be my downstairs neighbor) has just been evac'd out of iraq and back to germany. On Jan 26 (there was a short blurp about it on CNN) while he was conducting a route recon mission north of balad, his convoy came under small arms and rpg fire. The vehicle he was in took a direct hit from a rpg on the front drivers side (he thinks). The gunner was killed, and he and the truck commander (his 1sg) was also wounded. He took a massive amount of shrapnel from the blast, in his arms, shoulders, wrists, and one knee, ans also suffered 1st degree burns on his face and neck. They were taken to lsa anaconda and went straight into surgery. almost immedialtly thereafter he was put on a bird for germany. he got in on the 27th and had a follow up surgery to remove more shrapnel. His 1sg has been forwarded to walter reed. He was released this afternoon to return to his housing area with follow up medical consults for this coming week. He is in good spirits, but understandably a "slight bit of pain" the doctors are predicting a good recovery. Anyways hes a gun nut, and while i was talking to him i discovered that of all the stuff he owns, he owns not a single ar15. (but wishes he did) if it does't sound like i'm begging or anything maybe someone can tell me how this worked last time and see if we can hook him up with a nice rifle for him to shoot whil hes on leave recovering in the states if anyone is interested, (he says he is) in meeting, and hopefully going shooting with him ( as recovery allows) when he's home on leave just drop me a line and i can pass the info on. Hes from illinois. if this isnt possible just tell me. edited to add: Now that i ahev permission to do so , i can tell you that his name is SGT Hummert. |

Let's see.
We have a young GI who put his life on the line and was wounded while in the service of his country. Well, that's much more than I ever had to go through, so yeah, count me in. Do you take Paypal? |
|
i can take paypal i think, i have an account, but im not sure how recieving works, thats why im asking, i`d kinda like to know how this worked out last time.
guess i should read up on pay pal. hopefully this goes well. |
|
Read up on Paypal and then perhaps ask a mod for a tack. For you folks who don't recognized GlockLuvinRedleg, he was our point-of-contact soldier in Iraq who distributed all of our Adopt-a-Platoon packages. He's a stand-up guy. |

I always feel bad about spending more cash on rifles for myself. However, the opposite happens with the Hero Rifles. |

I would build this rifle if you want a custom weapon for your friend and many others from the Virginia clan know me and where I live so you can rest assured no funny business is involved, I have every tool needed and resources to purchase everything for the rifle.
I will donate my time and a A2 stock assembly with buffer and spring for his rifle plus the time in building. LRT |
|
I didnt donate to the last ones( I damned sure did donate an Eotech to a soldier serving though!) but you can count me in for this one. When the info is posted I'm in for a bit or can donate parts. Of course pics of the presentation WILL be REQUIRED!!!

The hard address is heres the points of contact addresses, Spc Snow, B 1/7 FA CMR 457, BX 2174 APO AE 09033 This is a Army post office box in germany, otherwise i wouldnt have posted it, saftey first. My email info is: [email protected] thats what my paypal account is registered with also. He says he would like a bushy m4orgery, with a rail sys if possible, im gonna work on that when i figure out what we have to work with. alot of support sp far, thanx guys. |
|
Just as a side note, I might be asking for this same thing after the soldier I donted my Eo to comes home. ( he doesnt know it but he'll be keeping that optic) I assume of course that he gets home safely. Everyone here should contribute to at least one of these projects. Also I encourage the use of LRT's services here, a custom build is better than factory every time.

I'm in.
IMHO get him a custom job. Spec that thing out. I'm sure one of the dealers on this site would trick it out. How about ADCO's SPR. Those are beautiful. You've got funds in the mail. I don't want paypal to skim off 3% on this. Hold that thought. ETA, either that or find a dealer and we can send the funds directly to them. Let's get a projected dollar figure as a target that we want to reach and then we can rally towards it. It's worked in the past, we can do it again. This way you don't have to keep track of the funds or anything and 100% of it is going towards the rifle, no paypal to skim off anything. IM if you want to go with this because all you need to do is pick the configs on the rifle and let us do the work. It's the least we can do for your friend. |

I'll try to figure out this Pay-pal.
Edit:<>: Sent 40 bucks to someone. Hope it was you GLR. Go Red Team. |
