I helped move my SIL's new refrigerator Sunday afternoon.  It had to go about 45 miles and so it was laid on it's side for the trip in the bed of my PSD.  I told my SIL to not turn it on or ever plug it in until at least yesterday; since she's not fully moving in until today, she decided she won't turn it on until this afternoon.

Don't know the model number but it's a Maytag with integral water filter and water filter minder.  It was a demo/floor model, retails for about $1800 and my SIL got it for $100.  What a steal!

Is 24 hours (or 48 hours) enough time after having it sit on it's side for a couple of hours or should we wait longer?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Merlin

I have been told to wait for at least as long as it was on it's side before turning it on.

You're just wanting any oil that's gotten into the compressor to drain back out. 24 hours should be plenty.
