Been in NOLA all week, haven't seen anything like that.
Ate some great food and drank a bunch though, never had to blade. |
|
That city needs another Katrina, X10, but with more road blocks.
The land of the lost... |
|
A favorite bumper sticker I saw once "New Orleans, even God couldn't flush it clean!"
Stay in the tourist or whitey areas, and go armed period. |

We have met the enemy, and we is paying to keep his baby mama up in da crib

Was there last week for my sister's wedding. Had it in the garden district. Very nice, no problems with any of the project scum. Born and raised there, moved to Texas in 1999.
I don't miss it. The crime is terrible, the city is corrupt, and the economy is shit. That being said it is no different from any big city run by corrupt politicians with a large percentage of welfare recipients. One friend was carjacked in high school, another friend of mine was assaulted and mugged in the Faubourg Marigny last year, but if you know where not to go you generally won't have any trouble. Just like Mexico they keep the touristy areas safe. However, my parents had enough after Katrina and also moved to Texas. My sister, who is a hippie, stayed behind, but even she has her CCW there. |

I'm not a big city fan, but I actually really liked New Orleans

Taking the wife to eat at August in N.O. next weekend.
city isn't bad if you what areas to avoid. Just like any other city. |

You're fine in Norleans, as long as you can do this.

I've been to NO many times, my brother lived there for years. Parts of the city have that great southern charm, but the other parts, well...the video says it all.
I wouldn't ever live there, but I'd go and visit. And don't think for a moment that those fine gentlemen will ever abandon their gangsta lifestyle. They love it, they'll never change, no matter how many speeches politicians and newscasters make. |

I'm going down to visit a friend in Baton Rouge in a couple of months. We'll be hitting NOLA for a couple of days.

I'm a small town boy from SW Louisiana, and I never thought I would have ended up living there for nearly 9 years.
I encountered good times (hot, free-spirited women) and bad times (traffic, crime) there. Once you live there for a while, you get a feel for the areas that you can go into or avoid. St. Charles Avenue is one of the most beautiful streets in the US, and can compete with many European cities. There is great architecture, world class restaurants and cooking, one of the busiest ports in the nation, great offshore fishing not an hour away, a world class military history museum, and a couple of great universities there. The people are generally friendly and love to have a good time. It truly is the city that care forgot. It could be one of the greatest cities in America if it were not for the crooked politicians and the racial politics there. Too much corruption and not enough desire to fix the things that need fixing. I still miss it occasionally, and every once in a while I take a trip back. LC |

My favorite is the guy with the pistol grip pump shotgun that has a large scope duct taped on.

I could stand about 30 seconds of that. Was that filmed in Somalia or Liberia? What language was that? It somewhat sounded like English.

I had a good time when I've been to New Orleans - but I didn't go to the ghetto... so...

Its really not that bad. Their are just pockets of crime like everywhere else.

Son and DIL just got back, they had a good time.
You just need to know the places to stay away from, like any large city. |
|

I can think of a solution to that problem that I would be glad to help implement. Just start selling licenses. |

One of those homies had a nice, recently built crib to live all up in (the guy with the Hornet's flag)?
Whether the video is wanna-be's or not, I am surprised at the # of AK's shown. |
|
I bet a certain someone high up could walk through all of those neighborhoods without a security escort of any kind and be completely OK.

That's what entitlement gets ya. Thanks a lot FDR, you jackass.

The wife and I just spent four days in the French Quarter. Spent most of our time on Bourbon Street, visited the WW2 Museum went on an airboat tour of a swamp. I wanted to bring my sidearm but didn't want to deal with the TSA headache.
You do not see these lowlifes in the French Quarter. |

View Quote That guy was pretty damn quick with the disarm. It should be legal to shoot the bad guy in this situation even if he is running away from you. |

I've always thought New Orleans looked best in the rear view mirror...
