If you ever walk up to a Russian aircraft, you won't need the reminder not to fly on one.

flew a Russian Airliner once from Frankfurt Germany to Karaganda Kazakhstan.  About a 7 hour flight each way.

Old Old ratty plane with with a nice 70's pimp daddy finnish inside and out.  The last couple seats in back, right before the toilets, had been removed.  In their place were a couple great big rolled up life rafts!

Each way on the flight - a bunch of locals would go back and sit on the rafts and play some kind of card game.  All the time drinking and smoking up a storm.  It was so friggin funny it took all the "scary" out of the flight.  I have a piture of it somewhere.  Me and the wife just did a few shots of Nyquil to get through!

Landed at the Soutern most air base in Kazakhstan.  The same base used by Russia to fight in Afghanistan.  The field was littered with old WWI (early WWII) bi-planes.  We were escorted from the plane to the terminal by some schweeet sexy Russian/Kasak babes with tattered AKs.  Told my wife "If I wasn't so scared it would have been pretty erotic" lol (actually felt like an ad from Red Star arms but much less sanitary!)

So the whole Russian airline theme.....YUP, just like in the movies!
