What is the difference between a Remington Model 7 action and a 700 short action?  Will a Model 7 action fit in a 700 SA stock?

The model seven is shorter on the rear of the receiver.  The 7 will not fit a 700 sa stock.  Unless I was trying to save weight I would get the 700 SA.

The 7 action is shorter than the Short 700 and won't fit in the 700 stock. I have a 7 in 243 that is bone stock and will shoot under an inch at 100.
A really nice rifle if you want a hunting rifle is the 700 Mountain in stainless with a laminated stock. I think it's a 700 Mountain LSS.
It is almost as light as a 7, but has a 22 inch barrel and handles nicer than a 7. One of my buddies has one in 260 and it is VERY nice.
