Can anyone suggest reference material on the Beretta AR70?  I would be interested in both print and web info.

Yeah, look in "The Gun Digest Book of Assault Weapons, 4th Edition".  Any good book store will either have it, or be able to order it for you. It has a whole chapter on the AR-70, includes history of development, photos and how to strip it.
