We shampooed the carpets last week with a rental unit and what came out was damn nasty.  I haven't cleaned the carpets in the 4 years I lived there.  With a baby on the way, cleanliness is more important, since strat81 jr. will be spending a lot of time on the floor.

What says Arfcom?  What are some good carpet cleaners?

ZEP makes a pretty good carpet cleaner. Got it at Home Depot.
