I am going to buy the wife a new camera for Christmas. It needs to be shock, water, and dust resistant. She is very rough with her technology, and a bit clumsy. So it has to take a beating. She also likes playing with all the features and being artsy. Point and shoot capability that figures out everything for you is a plus because she always insists I take some pictures of her when we are traveling. Money isn't really a problem. I'm assuming most cameras in this category are less than $500. So what are your recommendations?

And ironically, I will not post pictures in the photography forum.
