I was in the field waiting on my last  job of the day,when the guys shows up, turns out he is just got back from Iraq.  Had a nice chat with him about his experiences.  He was called up from the National Guard, and spent a year over there.  

 His primary job was infantry, door kicker.  He was less than impressed with the 9mm performance, and after a bout with a batch of bad mags, pretty much assigned it to dust collector status.  Said he relied upon his M4 on a daily basis.

  On the Iraqi population, he stated they were great during the day, when they were being paid to fix and repair things, but he swears the bastards went home at night and lobbed mortars at them.  Kind of like the old cartoon wtih the sheep, coyote, and sheep dog.  

  On the support for Bush, he said the troops were overwhelmingly supportive of him.  They despise Kerry, and his exact words were "Kerry is a fucking pussy and the troops know it"

  Overall, he said it was a tough job, in a tough place.  But the worst part of it all, was leaving his family here for the year.  I have a lot of respect for this guy, and he was very humble during the whole conversation. I thanked him for his sacrifice for this country.  Turns out he wants to assemble an M4orgery, and asked if I would help him.  No problem I said!!
