My Mom just gave me the old WW2 ration books that were my Dad's and Grandparents. Looking at the symbols on the stamps, I'm curious what they were for. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some reference material? Thanks.

I just looked at my Grandmother and Grandfather's WWII ration books. The only symbols I saw were one group had a torch (Statue of Liberty) and the other had Wheat (I'm thinking flour, bread, etc.) The other group was labeled "Spare" and had no symbols. What symbols are you curious about?
