This is very disturbing

11% of Likely U.S. Voters think communism is morally superior to the U.S. system of politics and economics, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. But 77% disagree and say the U.S. system is morally superior. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here).

Communism calls for the elimination of all private property with everything owned in common, and voters even more emphatically reject it as an economic theory. Eighty-seven percent (87%) say, in practical terms, free market economies work better than communist economies. Only four percent (4%) say communist economies work better.

I need more ammo.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:36:20 AM EST
11% want free shit, 13% are fucking morons.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:36:34 AM EST
Sweet..

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:37:07 AM EST
With the amount of people who are taking .gov handouts, this is not a surprise. I think the percentage in the country that favors communism/socialism is closer to 30-40%.

Remember..
There was a sort of Prophecy one Soviet made-"Americans will rise the flag of Communism themselves"(parapharased)-and that is coming true.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:37:34 AM EST
please ship those 11% of people to North Korea and ask them again in 1 year.

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:38:14 AM EST
Send them to a commie country then... Free trip there, with the proviso they cant return to the USA EVER!!!
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:38:20 AM EST
barak hussein obama's base

constitutional enemies.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:38:48 AM EST
wonder what percentage of that 11% are registered dems?
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:39:18 AM EST
If you don't like the American system please go to a place that has a better system. Don't try to turn America into some communist shit hole.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:39:36 AM EST

i'm actually surprised it's that low.

Nothing new.

To shocked by it is to be utterly ignorant of the history of your country.

25% of the people polled think the US Government was responsible for 911.

So what?
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:41:51 AM EST
I'm amazed it's as low as that......
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:45:09 AM EST
Wow, that's really good news. I'm stunned that Communism's approval in the USA is that low.

Of course, most of America is conservative and yet here we are as a female-dominated Marxist Welfare state. So we know it's wrong, but we go there anyway...
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:55:01 AM EST
And all the immigrants come here why? To get away from that, but want free stuff.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 9:00:22 AM EST
how can you guys be surprised after the way the majority of American voters voted during the last presidential election?

I'm surprised it was on 11%, figure 20-25% of the voting public is hard-core leftists.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 9:23:06 AM EST
So, roughly 11-24% of people slept through 20th Century history. Not surprised.

Thanks for more depressing news...

You guys need to listen to more left wing talk radio.

45% of Americans would love to live in their perception of a hard Socialist Sweden.

I will buy a boat to ship all of that 11% to North Korea.

Which "U.S. system"? The Socialist spoils system Zero and Company have us running as? Or the more-or-less free market Capitalism that catapulted a former Colony to world prominence?

New poll 11% of US voters are mentally retarded.

Pretty much.

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 9:41:31 AM EST
11% is nothing. Hell, 6% of people think that Elvis is still alive.

Even if we created the perfect system, there would still be a sizable minority that would argue for a "better" system.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 9:42:05 AM EST
This poll doesn't surprise me one bit. Kids, from the time they enter kindergarten, are being taught that communism is great. I think many people would be horrified, if they knew what was being taught around the country at colleges and universities.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 9:42:50 AM EST
I would LOVE to see an identical poll conducted in 1933.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 9:44:08 AM EST
And 11% that would turn down a trip to any communist country.

Oh but see, you're wrong there. NK is just ANOTHER example of those who did it (Communism/Socialism/Collectivism)
wrong. One of these days SOMEONE'S gonna get it right and then we'll ALL be happy (!)

Until then......say your prayers.....

I think ten percent is a acceptable number of uneducated pollers.

Hmmm...maybe not a bad idea after all....

This just in...

"Stupid people are still stupid"

Rasmussen reports: 24% of those poled are hopelessly stupid and immoral in the extreme.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 10:13:21 AM EST
Honestly, i thought it would be higher.....
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 10:13:50 AM EST
I wish that idiotic 24% could go and have a chat with the Czechs or the Poles and see how that worked out for them. Communism destroys nations. Most shitty economic situations from the last 100 years involve socialist (Keynesian) and Communist policies behind them.

Let those fuckers go live in NK or Cuba. Get them the hell out of this country.

Whether they'll admit it or not, I'd say at the very least, 50% of Americans desire a high degree of socialism.

Communism calls for the elimination of all private property with everything owned in common, and voters even more emphatically reject it as an economic theory. Eighty-seven percent (87%) say, in practical terms, free market economies work better than communist economies. Only four percent (4%) say communist economies work better.

False. Communism doesn't call for the elimination of private property... communism is a system where such is a fact of life by VOLUNTARY CONSENT of everyone in that society. Which is why the 4% who say communist economies work better that free markets are fucking stupid. There simply aren't any examples of such a society, past or present.

If communism worked, it wouldn't require a dictatorship of the proletariat to shove it down everyone's throats. People would practice it willingly as is the whole freaking POINT of communism. The fact that those who believe communism is workable say it requires a period of dictatorship to achieve it belies it very foundational principle: that people can be completely selfless and never give a thought to personal gain.

They don't know what they are saying.

That is what is so dangerous about it.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 10:22:59 AM EST
No doubt.

There is a segment of the population who WOULD be better off under communism. At least from their standpoint.
They wouldn't do shit then, either, and those living better than them through hard work would be dragged down to their level. That is the best part to them, the comeuppance they wish upon all the rest.

We should have crushed them long ago. There will only be more, and more, and more of them.

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 10:26:48 AM EST
If the 11% understood that work (perhaps hard) would now be required of them, they'd likely change their minds.

Communism is a lie. There is no communism. The free market is a natural law, imo, and it cannot be eliminated by any man or group of men no matter what law or penalty they devise.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 10:28:29 AM EST
Please Flee to a communist country then...

Many will continue to think its better while they are on the receiving end benefiting from the labor of others.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 10:28:30 AM EST
11% of Americans aren't.

13% need to make up their minds.

Yeah? Id be interested to know:

1. what socio-economic level most of those 11% came from.
2. If they really know what true comminusm entails or if they have just heard bits and pieces.

News flash, suppression of the population is absolutley critical in order for Communism to work. Ive never seen a country willingly enter into the upper echalons of socialism/communism unless at the end of a gun. These people dont know a damn thing about what they are asking for. The "free government _________" comes at a staggering price. YOUR FREEDOM!

Communism / socialism extends far beyond government healthcare.

Well, it can and probably will be eliminated. At least for a time. As I said, there will only be more and more. ONly 11% voted for communism but what about the socialistic nanny state? Probably a slight majority, I'd bet. And of those who would vote against it, how many would willingly give up their nanny state handout?

Yeah, that's right. Not damn many.

All in all, I agree with you though. Problem is convincing all the rest. Good luck with that.

Better they have to swim to Cuba.
