I was a 67R Apache crewchief. stationed at Ft. Hood TX(D co 1/227th Air Cav.), Katterback Army Airfield, (Dco 2/1 avn). Also did the whole "Big Sandbox" thing (Attached to the 2nd Armored Cav Regiment). Did alot of riding in UH-60 Blackhawks mostly cuz I liked to get some flight time and was dumb enough to volunteer to "ride the gun". When were you in Wiesbaden? I was attached to the Flight Det up there in the late 90s and early 90s. Did you know Logan Stickle? Aviator

I was in the US Army from 8/87 - 8/91. My MOS was 67T (Blackhawk Crew Chief) but when I arrived at Fort Carson, Colorado, there were no UH-60's. I worked in a maintenance platoon while I was there, mostly worked on Cobra's. The unit was 1st Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment. That lasted not quite 24 months. Then I was lucky enough to get assigned to another maintenance platoon in Panama, just after Operation Just Cause in early '90. That unit was 228th Aviation. Also, while there, I did TDY in Soto Cano Airbase in Honduras for a few months. ETS through Fort Jackson, S.C. I had to get my orders out to type all this. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth. ColtC. P.S. I never was a "Crew Chief", always in maintenance platoons, tear apart, inspect, reassemble. That was fun too though.

67u and 67 h or t I forget. Crewed a Huey in the OKARNG, (C Co, 1st Bn, 245 Aviation Special Operation, Airborne.) and was MOS trained in the Chinook, but then went to be NCOIC of Flight Ops, so never got to crew a Chinook. I loved flying. We flew about 90% of the time at night under NVG's. The only Special operations battalian in the Whole US National Gaurd system. Cut down alot of dope in the summers too. [:)] TXLEWIS
