In maybe a month when it has cooled down a bit. But there is quite a large range that is just south of Norman, tri-city gun club i'm going to look into, but also a private range by my house owned by an ex leo. I just need to get together enough people to make it worthwhile.

While I wouldn't call the Tri-City gun club "large" it is a very nice range that is well maintained and it is very AR friendly. My only complaints? The old lady that lives in the house near the front gate who bitches about the dust if you drive too fast. The other is the fact that you have to get out of your truck to unlock and open the gate, drive through, and then get out and lock the gate behind you and then have to repete it when you leave. That and having to go to Midway City for the meetings.

I live in Norman,Don't know for sure but hear the Tri-city is hard to get into. I think there is a public gun range in slaughterville just south of Noble am going to find out as I'm tired of driving to Harrah to shoot. Let me know what you find out,I'm ready to blast some caps(and shells) as well. Bob [8D]

There is at least 5 or 6 people here in the Tulsa area who are or have been on this site who would probably be interested. There is a decent range in Sapalupa called Happy Hollow. They have handgun and rifle ranges from 3m to 200m the also have swingers for .22's and they provide targets and there are nice target frames for them to fit into at each erm and there is a shotgun range with trap and skeet I believe and also a 3D archery range as well as several paintball courses. They have a few BBQ grill there also that are permanent there always and they have a heated and air conditioned club house with chairs tables couches and snack machines and cold drink machine. They sell some ammo there as well for very good prices and they let you check out hearing protection, extra target for a .25 and they let you use their spotting scopes free and the man who owns it is real cool. The normal fee is $7 per day but we may be ale to get that reduced if we get enough people together for the same day. This place is easy to get to as well as it is just off the Turner Trpk.

The Sapulpa range sounds awesome,Been trying to get ahold of someone from the Tri city range today to no avail , but if the guy want to rent out the whole range at Sapulpa for a day or two, that would be extra cool. Trojan can you IM me the Sapulpa ranges info or contact him yourself and let me know?

Well sorry it has taken me till this late to get on here but I was in class from 10:30am till 1:30pm then as I got out of class I got 3 calls that my uncle was in the ER in bad shape with BP of almost 300/200 and pulse 170 something. Well anyways I spent rest of the day and evening with him at he hospital and picking up my kids from school and footbal practice and then back to the hospital where I had a run in with the PD luckily I knew one of them real well, and no I did nothing illegal it was just a few of my rowdy little neice and cousin being rowdy so they called the PD. But anyways he is stabalized and doing much better and I will definately call the range in the morning and get some more info to make sure the range will be open and no matches scheduled and if we can get a count of who is all in I can try to see if we can get a group discount if we have more than so many people show up, but if not it is only $7 and the range is pretty nice. They have probably 30-50 firing points all of which have very nice shooting tables with blocks of wood, sand bags, and other rests and the seats are nice and cushy the kind that spoil ya when you are used to military or other ranges. All those firing points are covered and there is a decent club house and the owner is super nice guy. Anyways tomorrow when I get the details I will post them here as soon as I get them which will either be around 10am before school or 5pm after school.

I have been calling the range all day on and off and still have gotten no answer. Here is the info as best I know/remember. It is called Happy Hollow and the address is 10103 S 193rd W Ave in Sapulpa. The owner is Don Napier and their number is (918) 248-7499. I was going to try to get an exact count fro him on firing positions and makes sure it will be open and not reserved for a match or anything, but like I said he hasn't answerd the phone yet. I also was going to see if he would knock off a dolloar or two if we had a certain amount of people show up that way if people wanted to that would give them a few dollars more to put towards ammo, orgas money, BBQ stuff, cold cuts, drinks or whatever will help make the day better for you and everyone. My suggestion would be to plan on either bring a cooler with drinks and sandwhichs or we could all pack up together at lunch time or so and rally at one of the local hog troughs and then head back to the range for more fun. They open on Sat at either 9am or 10am and close between 7pm and 9pm depending on sunset and how many are there if i remember correctly. If any of you have better luck contacting them with more info please post it here. If you are not sure where you are going just get on 44 Turner Trpk either heading towards Tulsa if you are coming from the south or heading towards OKC if you are coming from the north and take exit 211. If you are coming from the north when you get off on exit 211 take a right and if from the south take a left and follow it down the road a 1/4 or 1/2 mile maybe then as you start up the hill you will see 193rd W Ave on the right take this road straight through 2 stopsigns I think untill you see the Happy Hollow sign on your right and follow it back through the woods and pull up and park by the creek where the gravel lot lined with railroad ties are and then you can't miss the cluhouse and firing line. Anyone have anything to add to this or corrections for errors I may have made speak up before Sat. By the way what time will everyone be there? (am or 10am or more like noon or so? Just wondering. I will be there probably at 9am or 10am.

The last time I was there(about a month ago) the only thing he didn't allow was rapid fire and .50's as his neighbors sometimes complain about the noise and he doesn't want to run the risk of them suing him and having the range closed down. I am going to try to be there when it opens at 9am or 10am whichever it is.
Link Posted: 8/30/2002 3:37:37 PM EDT
i was there last weekend its a good place 7 dollars for all day. the rules are 3 seconds between shots no 50 cals and no pistols past 25 yards without a long barrel, i live about 20 minutes from there.i hope we can make this happen it would be sweet!
Link Posted: 8/30/2002 4:08:58 PM EDT
O.K. guys, talked to the guy at Happy Hollow today and was told that the range would be open tomorrow! I'll be there about 10:00 or 10:30. No word as of yet but there is another member that lives about 4 miles from me (icemanokc) that may be coming also . I am bringing a cooler and some drinks. I guess we will see who all shows up and we can make lunch plans from there unless someone else has a better idea?
