As you can see, my dead drive has a warrant that ends in 2015. The recert drive WDC sent me has a warranty that ends in less than 4 months.

Sound like bullshit to you? It did to me, fired off an email to WDC support. I am waiting to see if they even reply.

Call them, the replacement drive should be covered by the remainder of the original warranty.*

* unless they have a clause that states that the warranty is only good for a 1 time repair/or a similar disclaimer.

They will fix the error

Otherwise I'd never buy a WD product again and tell everyone I know what they did
