I may have a job lined up in Pa for a few years, question is, if I live in WV and work in Pa will I have to pay taxes twice, for WV AND pa?

I thought you only paid State income taxes in the same state as you reside.

I think it depends on the state but you may have too..

One of my coworkers lives just across the VA line in TN, and works for the VA gov.. TN does not have any income tax, BUT Virginia requires my coworker to pay VA income tax (withheld from paycheck)...  I am not sure, but I dont think he gets a refund on his VA tax withholdings either.

Another one of my coworkers lived in MD and same thing - they withheld VA income taxes and then he had to pay estimated tax to MD as well..

What you are looking for is "reciprocal tax agreements".

PA and WV do have a such an agreement. However, PA does have that stupid township tax. You might have to investigate further to find out if the township tax is excluded, or if you have to pay that. Get some competent advise. Pay a little now to avoid paying a lot later.

All I know is that somewhere on my desk is a form we have to fill out if we spend more than 10 or 14 days working in NYC so they can grab a slice of your income.

Yeah... here it is - form It-2104.1 New York State, City of New York, and City of Yonkers Certificate of Nonresidence and Allocation of Withholding Tax.

I've also seen a story where one spouse worked in CA and the other somewhere else. When the first spouse filed for her CA income taxes, they wanted to take a slice of the income of the spouse who did not work in the state too.
