Question/issue with the stainless finish on HK USPs
I have a stainless USP that looks different from others. All others I've owned or handled were kind of shiny. This one has more of a matte look to it. Has anyone else encountered this. I just want to make sure that it isn't a HE refinished to LOOK stainless.

I think the earlier ones had the more matte stainless finish than the later ones. What are the two date letters on slide? I have a friend that has an older full size 45 with the stainless finish and it was more of a matte finish.

Az-gunner, that would make your USP a 1996 date of manufacture. It has been a while since I have seen a stainless slide made before 2000 and my friend now lives in Anchorage, Alaska. I know his was made before 1998 and I'm pretty sure his had the more matte finish. Check your friends dates on slides.

All of mine have the HE finish which is damn tough, but I wish they still made some full size USP9s in the stainless slide.

Is there a mild chemical agent, that would only react on stainless slide versus a refinished one?
