Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Questions about mid 90's rear projection TV's

I was given a sony 42" rear projection TV that has a sticker on the back dating to 1995. The previous owner says it needs some kind of circuit board replaced that she had quoted and price to fix it was $200. Would a rear projection this old be worth fixing? Seems like the early models had poor pictures. Its very lightweight and has that plastic screen.

the picture sucks on rear projections. I wouldn't fix it.
